EXCELLENT SIGMA PERFORMANCE IN KOSOVO

January 2021

COMPACT 2000 model SIGMA Asphalt Plant with 160 tons/hour hot-mix asphalt production capacity is commissioned successfully in Kosovo.

After a long period of detailed investigation and evaluation, the Haxha Company decided on behalf of SIGMA. The asphalt plant was ordered in March 2020 and the production was completed in due time despite the pandemic restrictions. As the customer had a delay in completing the concrete foundations, the plant was shipped in late August in 16 trailer trucks. Installation was completed by SIGMA technicians and the plant was started up with success in October 2020. Excellent results in terms of performance and hot-mix asphalt quality were reached during the test runs.

The company also owns a crushing and screening plant in Mitrovice and the asphalt plant was installed at the same area. Before ordering the plant, the company owners visited various SIGMA plants in Turkey, discussed with operators and site managers asking them the performance and degree of satisfaction. Finally, they decided to purchase their asphalt plant from SIGMA.

Being the first SIGMA asphalt plant in Kosovo, the plant is fully automatic and computer controlled. LPG gas is used as fuel and the plant is equipped with two electric heated 70m3 capacity vertical bitumen tanks and tank filling station.

The hot-mix product silo of the plant has an additional level to increase the storage capacity to 72 tons from the standard 35 tons. Within the two sections of the silo, two different types of hot mix can be stored if desired.
